Polyphony: Voices of New Mexico celebrates International Women’s Day

Thanks to a massive protest in Russia since 1917, we now celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th each year. A lot of noteworthy music has been written to help mark this occasion, especially music by women. In this day and age, where the erasure of women's rights is a real and imminent threat, I feel that it is all the more important to gather, sing, and empower. 

The program will center around Sarah Quartel's 'She Sang the Stars' and will also include music sung in several languages by Mari Esabel Valverde, J. Reese Norris, Ethan Sperry, B. E. Boykin, Jim Papoulis, and Lady Gaga.
